A retrospective of Isabelle Huppert starrers courtesy of the Embassy of France and the respective grand showcase for the restored versions of two of the Philippines' greatest film classics, namely, Manuel Conde's Genghis Khan and National Artist Lino Brocka's Maynila sa mga Kuko ng Liwanag usher in the month's most distinguished screenings at the UPFI Film Center in UP Diliman.

A hallmark of special Fil-Am features from Benito Bautista and Joni Gutierrez coincides with the Fil-Am Friendship Day commemoration for contrasting takes on the Filipino migrant experience in the United States.

Succeeding weeks direct the spotlight on National Artist Eddie Romero whose birth month is July and this year's recipient of Gawad Plaridel Award for Outstanding Media Practitioners, namely, Jose F. Lacaba.

The month's fitting culmination is the finale for Cine Venezolano, the festival courtesy of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with the country's rich cinematic tradition notably imbued with the spirit of revolution and independence.
